Default Student Loan Garnishment
I have a student loan that I believe was filled out wrong in 2001. I have just recently try to fix my credit report and since I have done that the collection company has inform me they will be garnishing my wages. I don't believe they have properly done the procedure to start garnishment. I never receive any court order or my student loan account information. How can I fight the wage garnishment if I believe they have violated the procedure to obtaining a garnishment request. Any answer will be very appreciated.

Sorry it took so long to respond to the question. The state that I live in now is South Carolina but the state that I use to live in is Georgia.

Garnishment occurs by court order, so if they get a garnishment order you can explore the associated court file to see how they obtained a judgment and if they followed proper procedure in obtaining a garnishment order.
