Default Possible Assault Charges After an Altercation
Please give advice. Got into an a argument at a event, we were asked to leave and escorted out of event, once out of gate staff continued to follow and taunt us out into the parking lot where they started a fight. We had 8 people with us, 6 got involved, they had around 15 people. The police showed up after the fight had ended and got statements from everyone and treated us like we were in the wrong. 1 of our guys was arrested for P.I. The rest of us was questioned and released. No one went to the hospital. I got a copy of the police report and it just give a small summary. States the call was aggivated assault. It listed 1 guy and 1 female that was in their party was assaulted, by 3 of us. States at the bottom that we were questioned and released pending the filing of charges. We just want to forget about it but are worried there is legal issues to come. Basically what happens now? Should we go ahead and file charges also? Will we be contacted about this by Detectives or DA? Should we go ahead and get a lawyer? Or will it all be thrown out? Thanks for any advice.

We can't predict the future. If you are charged, hiring a criminal defense lawyer is a good idea.

You've apparently already made your statement about what happened to the police. You can try filing a supplemental report to try to get the staff members charged, but that's probably a bit like poking a hornet's nest with a stick.
