Default Order to Appear in Criminal Court

I got a Letter in the Mail September 14th saying....

The Defendent and His/Her attorney must appear for arraignment on October 13th, 2005 at 8:30am Before the Above-Named Judge at the Gwinnett Justic and Administration center... The Bondsman is not required to appear. The Victim is not required. But has a right to be present and to express an opinion if a sentence is Given...

Im wondering if my Charge of Obstruction of Law Enforcement (Misdemeanor) is a Serious Charge... I already hired a Lawyer to prevent my Violation Probation by going through with a Diversion Program... But Im now really worried about what is going to happen about this State vs Me type of thing... IM SCARED.. please Let me know if you can explain what could happed or what would happen to me.. And Also explain what Arraignment is...! PLEASE!!!

    Default Arraignment

An arraignment is where a defendant is summoned ot court for the formal reading of a charge, with the defendant given a chance to enter a plea. You should discuss this charge with your lawyer, and determine if you wish to be represented in relation to the obstruction charge.

    Default Obstructing Police Officer

There's a chance of jail time. Whether or not it is likely will depend upon the facts and circumstances - I suggest you consult a local criminal defense lawyer.

    Default Consulting a Lawyer

It was suggested that you contact a local criminal defense lawyer. Have you done that yet?
