Default Defending Myself in an Assault Causing Bodily Harm Trial
hi, i was charged in Ontario Canada at the age of 21 (i am now 23) with assault causing bodily harm. im trying to move this along, as it has kept being delayed for about 1 year and 7 months. all that is left now is the trial in January.

my lawyer just asked for another retainer, and seeing that i am now finished my first year of law school.. i was wondering what other people thought about representing yourself. (other than my teachers and friends)

what im worried about is my city is really old school Italian, and all the judges are Italian.. think ill come off as cocky representing myself??

any thoughts?

What's the cliché.... Oh yes. "A person who chooses to represent himself has a fool for a lawyer and a damn fool for a client."

You can do as you wish. Personally, I would have a lawyer represent me.
