    Default Brother's Immigration Status Unknown

my brother came to america about 6 years ago(he is now 24) on a studend visa, and he applied for an extention on his time, but when the letter came to the house our dad took it, and then it was never seen again, and he got scared and tried to fix it, but could'nt.
since then my mom got remarried to a citizen and filed for me and my sister since we were under 18, but my brother was already 18 so he got left out.
we were under the impression that someone was working on his case but she just picked up and left the country, proberly was a scam.
now my mom died two years ago, and my brother recently got married to a perminent resident, and i think they filled some papers i don't know which, but when they went back to the guys office he had moved.

my question is i'm worried about my big brother, and he holds the family together, is there anything me or my stepdad could do to insure he does'nt get deported, he's never been in trouble no arrest.

    thanks........................................

Default Immigration Issues - Unknown Status

Given that your brother doesn't even know his own status, and your facts suggest the likelihood that his presence in the country is illegal, it would be a very good idea for him to sit down with a professional immigration lawyer and to discuss his situation and options.

I don't have any lawyer recommendations in Florida. He may wish to try the Broward County Bar Association's lawyer referral service.

In my opinion, he should check his status through a lawyer or appropriate third party, rather that directly contacting the BSCIS.
