I Know Where My Repossesed Car Is
I know where my car is. My last contact was less than a month ago, (Yes we are behind, but only owe $1,100.00 on car) w/ the lien holder, and then boom! The car is gone!
By a very weird coincidence, I know where my car is. I was driving out in the middle of nowhere, and there it was. It is sitting in front of a reg house garage, w/ several other cars around it, in a residental area, and I am wondering if I can hop in it and drive it back home. I fully intend to pay all that is due, but can I drive it away and not suffer any legal repercussions?
The reaon I am asking is because While I can come up w/ the payoff, I really cannot afford to pay the $10.00 a day storage for the next 20 days until I can come up w/ the money to pay the lender off.
Thanks.
I am in Michigan

that will happen when you become delinquent.

Don;t even seriously consider this. The susequent criminal actions will cost you much more than the storage fees.

Re: I know where my repossesed car is!!!!
I can see where that may happen; however, MCL Michigan Court law States: "The repossession may take place if it is done in a peaceful manner." Why can I not "Peacefully" repossess the repossessed?
Thanks JK

Because you don't own it. The bank does. The bank had a contract that YOU agreed to, that if you even became one day behind, you gave them permission to com get their vehicle. Remember, it is theirs until you pay them for it. Now, you're asking if you can take the bank's vehicle from a 3rd party's driveway. I smell jail.

because, as Moburkes explained, the car is rightfully held by the lender. If you "peacefully re-repossess" the car, you will be charge with auto theft or one of several other applicable crimes.
Simply work to pay it and avoid having to get used to some roommate called Bubba.
