Time limit for an indictment

Hello there..well i have a criminal charge on me and my cout appointed lawyer told me that If they dont indict me within 90 days , then the charges are dropped..then i talked to another attorney...and they said it could take up to 2 years...well..now my court appointer lawyer no longer works for them...so i have no lawyer...I was arrested on the 2nd of June on the theft charged and released the next day. Any help would be appreciated...
