Default Driving with Headlights Off in California

Hi. I was driving without my headlights in the Los Angeles County in the city of Pacoima 91331 and was pulled over by the cops in a lighted area. I received a ticket for this violation. The cops told me that I have to go to court and that my parents have to attend. My questions are:
    1) Do I have to attend Traffic School?
    2) I am 18 years old, do my parents have to go to court with me?
    3) I believe the cops pulled me over because i have a sports car. Does it count as cop being profiling?

    Thank you.

    Thank you.

You do not HAVE to, no. Plus, since these may be zero point violations, traffic school may not do you much good. It also depends on the specific violation.

CVC 24252(a-c) and 24400(a)(1) are a correctable violations worth zero points ... CVC 24400(a)(2) is not correctable and is worth 1 point - traffic school would help here.

    2) I am 18 years old, do my parents have to go to court with me?
    No.

    3) I believe the cops pulled me over because i have a sports car. Does it count as cop being profiling?
Uh ... no. They can profile sports cars with no headlights all they want.
