Whilst driving up the canyon to walk my dogs, as I do almost daily, I came to an intersection with the small house to the right and a subsidiary road behind the house where the Ranger was parked.
I reached a full stop and turning right saw a mountain conservancy ranger with his head under the hood of his vehicle. I proceeded up the canyon with due care and caution obeying the rules of the road.
As I crossed the top of the reservoir and indicated to turn right into the car park, the same ranger came racing up lights flashing. He followed me into the car park and proceeded to tell me that I hadn’t stopped and was driving to close to the car in front of me.
The officer then went on to inform me that I had not stopped at the intersection where he was under the hood. Several cars behind me had pulled off into the siding near the playground/ play area as I had proceeded up the road.
I do not feel that this ticket was acceptable given or legal and I am therefore wanting to contest it. It is my understanding that this matter will not be applicable for a traffic court or judge and therefore, I would like to know what method of legal recompense I have as they tell me they will send the ticket out to a collection agency and adversely affect my credit.
p.s this isn't a small ticket or else i would have just paid it
