I currently have 2cases.The first case consist of 3 charges- assault ,harrassment and endangering the welfare of children. The other violation of order protection. Not by the defendant (my ex abusive husband )but by his mother right after he had died which were a few months after my first incarceration.Unfortunately my ex husband died right before the next court date which was about 1 1/2 months down the line. I ask the judge to prospone because I was incomplete shock of all that was happening.I needed time to get couseling and my financial situations straiten out.He wasnt able to make his court appearance toward the allegations. However my children were on disability during the time i was incarcerated 3 daysand thier checks were taken due to me allegated charges and the city putting my income information in thier data base in the bull pins. My ex-husband and I had a verbal dispute where it resulted me and him having an actual fight in front of my children which was my first. Most of the abuse happen while the children were in school or after my separtion from him leaving and moving into my own apartment with my 3 children.
its just sad to see that when woman try really hard to get away from abusive relationship how the system rips families apart. My children need me and here I'm not able to speak or see any of my three children. He and his mother used the system to defame my hard work and name. His mother would have the audacity to come to my childrens school and cause havic there when I have worked my tail off to give my children the best education when it came to pta,slt community board meetings,college student and work. Im now trying to get this case over with its just a long hall. Its been since may 24, since all this been going on. Im trying to stay above water looking for full time work and still balance school and all, so i can petition to see my children in family court but with all these court cases its hard to even hold down a real job much lesss a b/s job and im supposed to be superwoman here!!!!!!!! I need some assistance if i had a magic wand but i dont I do know what i need to do concerning the court cases. I just need to show up. i missed 2 court cases because i didnt have a phone or a cell phone. so I finally have one the only thing is I have to go to my local legal Aid office to get emergency attorney to represent my case before a warrant is issued. I live in the bronx and im crossing my fingers that im able to get someone who will represent me. If you happen to be a legal Aid in the bronx Id be happy to have my case heard and dismissed tomarrow Oct 16,2007. my name is [REMOVED] in DV court of criminal court of the Bronx.
