    Default Condo Association Bylaw Changes

Where can I find rules/law that condominium associations have to follow in Florida. I am an owner and am renting my unit out and my association is trying to dictate to me things that are not on our by-laws. They claim the new rules were agreed to by the board of directors, but I am trying to tell them that is not enough, that changes to our by-laws and declarations need to be approved by the members of the association. I'm pretty sure I'm right, but where can I find this kind of information at? Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

The bylaws is where you need to look to find out how changes can be made.

Rules are different than bylaws. Changes to either are governed by your bylaws. Typically, rules do not require changes in bylaws and can be made by the BOD. Amendment changes do require members' approval via voting. FL statutes also state that the BOD has the power to make changes to Rules (not bylaws) without the members' approval.
