2 years ago my mother and father placed a protective order on a good friend of mine to stay away from me. He is also on probation for 3 years and so is the protective order. I am now 18 but the protective order does not expire until next year. My questions are
since i am now 18 can i talk to him again?
And on the second page of the protective order explaining the terms it reads under effective date and expiration date of orders
-Orders under penal code section 1203.097 are probationary orders and the court has jurisdiction as long as the defendant is on probation
-To terminate this protective order use form CR-165. Notice of protective order in criminal proceedings(CLETS)
With what i quoted above on the first bullet, does this mean i have absolutely no say in removing the restraining order? But as i quoted in the second bullet wouldnt i be able to fill out the CLETS form and the restraining order would be invalid now?
thanks again for all the help
-Rachel
