Violation of Probation and Unauthorized Move

i was caught shoplifting in august of 06, not arrested, but i had to go to court and they gave me 6 months of probation. i went to one probation meeting, and didn't have the money to pay anything yet so planned on paying the next appointment.
in between my first and second appointment my mom made me move to another state for kind of emergency reasons and said she'd handle my probation fines, and tell my officer that she made me move.
well basically she didn't.
and they put out a warrant for my arrest and went to her house looking for me, but i of course wasn't there and she told them she didn't know where i was.
i've been pulled over here in the state i'm in and they've told me that i have a warrant for my arrest but they didn't want to expodite{sp?} me? well where they were willing to drive down and get me.
so i'm really not sure what i should do?
or what will happen if i ever get stopped in that state, or whatever.
i mean. i'm really clueless.
i heard if you get arrested on VOP there's no bond or anything.
basically i guess my VOP is moving out of state and not paying my fines and not contacting my officer.
so it's really bad...
what would happen if i turned myself in?

How about having your mother help you pay off all of your court assessments, and help you hire a lawyer back where this occurred so you can work out how to resolve this with the least chance of going to jail?
