My New Car Was Towed From My Own Parking Spot at My Apartment

Hello Everyone,

I live in Orange County, California. Yesterday, my brand new car has been towed away during the middle of the night (3:00am in the morning). Then, the apartment manager said I should of told them about this new car and get a permit. But I parked the car on my assigned spot, before the towing, they should notify me right? It is a new car so has no license plate, and I have been parking there for past 4 days, how could they simply tow it. Since I rent the room, the parking is included, as long I don't complain someone else is parked on my spot, why they cares. Ended up I had to pay $150 dollars for getting the car back and had been late to work. Now my most concern is about the car been damaged.

Please give advice, what should I do now. Ask the management to pay for the towing fee?
