Default Who Pays for Benefits while comp recipient is off work
I was wondering, my husband is currently off work due to a work related injury. He has recently started his compensation checks and waiting for authorization for surgery. During the time he is off work, is it our responsibility or his employers to pay health insurance, dental insurance, etc? Thanks for your help.

Default Disability Leave
Your state workers' compensation bureau may be able to clarify your specific rights. Often an employer will continue to contribute the employer's share of benefit cost during a period of disability, but the employee will be responsible to pay the employee's share in order to maintain coverage. If that is not the case in your state, you can continue coverage through COBRA by paying the full cost of coverage under the employer's group plan.
