How Long Does A Contractor Have To Bill You

I am in Arizona and hired a contractor to do some landscaping in my backyard. I paid for the service in July and the work was completed August 1st and the yard looked great. I just received an email today from the contractor stating that he forgot to send me a final bill with some additional money due above and beyond the original agreement. He also claims that I owe money from the original balance.

Is there a time limit on how long a contractor has to bill you for a service? It seems strange that after 2 months he would come back and say I owe money. If they don't send a bill within 60 days am I still obligated to pay it?

He hasn't sent the bill yet, so I can't even determine whether or not the charges are legitimate.

Yes but it is much longer than 60 days.

Doesn't sound strange if you do owe the money but since you do not know exactly what it is for, you'll have to wait to see it it is legit.

if you owe it, yes.
