Default Car Insurance Coverage for Multiple People

I am failry new to US/Seattle.

I just Got a new car and need to insure it. I am 29 and live with my parents.

My question is: Do i need to include all 3 drivers in the insurance policy coverage i.e if i just list myself as the driver and if one my parents was driving my car and was involved in collison with the fault being my parents, will insurance cover me ? or do they need to be listed specifically in the policy to have coverage

Also when they say to have "Under Insured Motorist Property Damage" so you can have damages to your car covered if other party was at fault and their insurance didnt cover up to the total cost of $$ value to your cars damages - If you dont have this coverage then say if you had an accident and the other party was at fault and he didnt have insurance or it didnt fully cover damages to my cars repair and sinc ei dont have my insurance covering it, can i recover the damages claim thru court?

And if i can then what are the cons of doing it that way? Is having "Under Insured Motorist Property Damage" just a convenience so you dont have to run around to get the damage claim from third party thru court??

Thanks for any other advice since i am new and still getting rasp of the legal system here in US

    Thanks

You will need to talk to your insurance agent about what your insurer requires, when it comes to maintaining coverage while letting your car be driven by members of your household.

You can try to recover whatever you want from somebody who injures you. If they don't have money or sufficient insurance, there's a chance you won't get all of what you ask for. That's the purpose of underinsured coverage.

If you have collision, then you don't need UMPD. If you don't have collision coverage, but want coverage in case the at fault party doesn't have insurance to pay for the damage to your vehicle, then you can choose UMPD. It is inexpensive, and the deductible is $250.
