Default Recovering a Truck After Repossession
I just had my truck repo'd and i am really trying to everything to get it back. i was explained that toyota is only required to follow the minimun required guidelines for reposession. I can not pay the past due amount and any other fees/charges?

also, from what I understand, the repo man is not to make contact with me. I was awaken by my brother. The noise of the repo truck woke him up. I went outside and was asked for my keys. Is any of that legal? Is that enough to require my truck with enough time to pay the past due amount?

You tacked this onto an old thread and didn't identify your state. What is your state?

The repo man can ask you for your keys.

The principal way to get the truck back is to contact the lender and figure out whether you qualify to reinstate the loan, and if not whether you can redeem the vehicle by paying off the loan.

In general, in California, you have a right to reinstate your loan for the vehicle by paying the past due monthly payments, along with any repossession costs or storage fees associated with the repo. The creditor may ordinarily deny the buyer's right to reinstate the loan only if there is a valid legal justification (e.g., the buyer lied on the credit application, intentionally concealed the vehicle to avoid repossession, failed to maintain the vehicle, or threatened to commit acts of violence against the repo man).
