Default Retaliation by Children's Services Division in Oregon

A CSD worker complimented me on my appearance during a meeting, to tell me that my daughter would be coming home as soon as we could go in front of the judge, at his office. I expressed my discomfort, to another CSD worker, with having further contact with this man and that person made the report out to sound like I was actually thinking about "hooking up" with him! They kept my daughter in foster care an extra 10 months in retaliation to my complaint. I'm starting to think I should have posted this under the Civil Rights forum. The reason they took her in the first place was that I was arrested by mistake, (I got an apology from the DA the following Tues after sitting all weekend) for some crazy charges that would have had me in prison for 15 years! I have no criminal charges pending. I did sign a plea, in juvenile court, stating that I subjected my daughter to mental injury due to DV. There's so much more to this story....just ask.

You state that your child was placed in care because you admitted to subjecting your child to mental injury due to domestic violence. It sounds like at some later date, when they were considering returning the child to you, you totally misinterpreted a statement by a case worker resulting in additional concerns about your mental health, and resulting in your child's remaining in care for an additional period of time - or, at least, that's how they seem to have interpreted your reaction and conduct.

Actually, I signed the plea two months later. The intake worker was found to be inappropriate and was removed from my case, taken out of contact with us, his phone extension was changed and I also witnessed him turn his keys over to the new worker. The statement, that I made, was intentionally embellished by his cohort thus serving as a tool to make them look right, for taking my child by mistake, to begin with-- but, IT BACK-FIRED ON HIM.

The reason for making the ridiculous admission was so that the agency wouldn't go into court and tell more lies. Child welfare has license to use any means possible, even unfounded rumors, to "protect" children. I took the plea because I could only imagine what other things they would say. By the way, I passed my psych-eval with flying colors and no further recommendations.
