Terminating a Lease Within 24 Hours

Hi folks:

I signed up a lease in the evening at 4:00 pm in some apartment community in Houston Texas.

When I got to my apartment I saw some weird people standing outside by the stair case near to my apartment. This was an unpleasant feeling to me so I decided to look around the apartment building so I went downstairs and wandered for some time. I saw couple of guys asking money from me and a few smoking crack. I could not tolerate such kind of surrounding so I went to the management but they were closed as it was 5:15 pm in the evening.

I have decided not to be in that apartment. It is not even 24 hours yet, is there a way I can bail out ?

Not unless there is a clause that gives you freedom to change your mind within a certain time frame (doubtful).
