I was in a Target parking lot in Silverthorn, Summit County, Colorado with a friend. He told me a joke and i was laughing about it. I was traveling somewhere between 10 and 15 miles per hour(my speedometer was registering 3 mph, but i don't believe it, it is old and sometimes inaccurate) A few weeks later i got a call from a Police officer saying that someone had called with a complaint that a white Subaru(my car) had tried to run him over, and as the Subaru drove away the driver and passenger were laughing at the incident. The man insists that i am ticketed. My questions are, are there any legal grounds on ticketing me. If so would i get a careless driving ticket, a reckless driving ticket, or something else. Finally, if i am ticketed, how would i go about fighting the ticket. Thank you. I wold like to note that i have a perfectly clean driving record except for this. I have never even been pulled over. Also would my being 17 years old help or hurt my situation and would the charges be the same as if I were 18.
