When my wife dropped off the kids at the school earlier today, she got involved in a parking lot accident at the school (directly on the school's parking lot).
She was in the process of backing out with our car, while somebody else tried to park next to her. She was halfway out of her parking space when he tried to get into another parking space next to her and that's when he lost one of his headlights, and some damage (not worth a divorce ) was caused to our car.
Since both were in a hurry they exchanged names and phone numbers.
My wife gave him the name of our car insurance company, but did not ask for his insurance company etc.
The police was not called.
Now the big question: Who pays what? Is it everybody pays for the own damage? Do we have to call the insurance companies?
I never had an accident in my whole life, so I am not sure what the situation is in this case, especially it is hard to figure out who was at fault.
The entire thing took place in Arizona.
Any valuable information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help,
