Default Payment Made After Repossession
I have a question regarding the handling of my car after it was repossessed. I live in Wisconsin, the credit company sent someone by my house to repossess my car, the man was rather nice and stated he would have the car in a locked lot just a little ways away from my house and that i would have 15 days to get it back our it will go to auction. He even stated that he would bring it back to me if I didn't have a way to get it. That was Tuesday evening, I called the credit company first thing in the morning to find out what I owed and what I needed to do to get the car back. Eventually they stated I would owe $921.65 to pay it off plus the repo fee of $375.00. I made payment to them by Moneygram on Friday morning, called them when I got home and they stated they rcvd my payment, but I would have to wait until 9:00 am my time, the repo office didn't open til then and I should call the credit comp back at 9:00. I called them at 9:00 and they informed me they spoke with the repo office at 8:55 my time and everything was ok, they gave me the repo office # to call to arrange for vehicle pickup. I spoke with a Jason at the repo office at 9:20 am, he indicated they had the car but did not have paperwork yet, it could take anywhere from 1-2 hrs and I should call back then. I explained I needed the care by 12:00 and he said no problem, and to even try in an hr and they should have something. Well I waited 1 hr and 10 minutes, called back and rcvd a woman this time who was VERY RUDE and explained that my car went to auction already and there was nothing they could do about it. I explained I spoke with Jason not more than an hour ago who stated I would have the car by 12:00. "well he must not have known it was picked up this AM and to call my credit company", and hung up. I called my credit comp who finally after 20 minutes on hold, "located my car". It was sent to an auction house but was not going to auction but just for storage? and that I now had to pay the cost for taking it there $246.00, but they would be gracious enough and add that amount to my account. I explained I had paid the balance and didn't have an account, "well you do now". And they would not release the title until that was paid and I would have to travel 2.5 hrs to pick up my vehicle and that they are not opened on Friday and would have to wait until monday 8-4 (take off a day of work?) Sorry this went on but I wanted to get my whole story thru....Can they add that expense on even though I was told it would be held in my home town for 15 days? Who makes the decision as to when and where a repossessed vehicle goes? Is it possible to have them bring the car back up to me? Would I have to pay storage fees if they were not open to obtain my vehicle?

Default Re: Payment Made After Repossession
Did you already pay the additional fee? How about suing in small claims court to get it back.
