    Default Back Yard Fighting

If a group of friends and I were to set up a matches for people to box each other in a friends backyard, is that illegal? And under what sections if it is?

That depends ... what state is this? ARe there any local ordinances against this sort o thing? Would people pay to fight, and would you receive any compensation for the fights?

If you do it for money - or if anyone gets paid - it could very well be illegal.

It is in the state of california, no one is getting paid for fighting, and there are no side bets.

There may well be local ordinances against staged fights, and there would almost certainly be noise issues if crowds gather.

Having a boxing ring in your backyard is not likely to be illegal (unless by ordinance), but the associated noise or traffic problems might be.

As long as no one else cares, no other laws are broken, and no one is paying or receiving pay for the event, then it shouldn't be unlawful.
