Question Verifying The Authenticity Of A Letter From A Solicitor

please could someone tell me if a solicitors letter should have a signiture on it? and if solicitors should do research to find facts before first letter? also does a law firm put a hold on cases because of a family bereavement of staff for as long as two years? trying to see if letter is legitimate or a fake one
    thanx

Are we discussing a solicitor as in someone who is soliciting something from you? Or is this a UK term meaning legal advisor (rather than a barrister)?

If this thread has something to do with your other question, it might be easier for you to get answers if all is within the same thread.

I thought it might be a letter to your guardians and you want to clarify if it is really from the solicitor or from someone who wants to appear to be a legal advisor.

I would never consider anything without a signiture an official letter.

I don't know about UK... an attorney may write what he/she has be told by their client. A letter may be an opportunity for more information to be provided. But in the case you presented earlier, I would advise you to allow those persons who have legal counsel to get legal advise before reacting to a letter.

In general, legal advisors do research legal issues. If you are asking if they do a survey about the truth? No. Nor are they expected to do so. Expect them to use the legal process- subpoena, deposition, hearings.

I really don't know the answer to your question about family breavement and holding a case. It is not unusual for a case to be ongoing for a number of years. It really depends on circumstances of the case.

Question Re: is this legitimateRE:solicitor letter

you are helping me believe me, it is a letter that my legal guardians have recieved its just very messed up and doesnt seem real, they state their own opinions in the respect of saying that my guardians are not credited witnesses when in uk law that is up for the judge to decide? they got financial information two years ago and we never heard any thing since so assumed it had been dropped and now two years later we recieve this letter it doesnt seem right. i did not think that solicitors give their own opinion as they would be worried about bringing on a defimation suit against them. the thing is it states things like she had pass me down clothes from my auntie(legel guardian) when my aunty is 5ft2 and yet my sister is 5ft 11inches so would be impossible. and stated that my aunty owed a rover 75 when this car had not even been made before 1993 so it just seems really wierd
