Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Reckless Driving

A family member fell a sleep while driving and only damaged his vehicle. He was given a reckless driving ticket. He has no recollaction of the event which happened 3 days before the surgery (to eliminate the symptoms of his sleep apnea). How can we prove it to the court at his hearing in October? Do we have have any doctors (he's got 3) who's been treating him in person to testify on his behalf? Or, getting the medical records from the doctors and hospital would be enough? Also, the CPAP machine that he was perscribed was not helpful either.

We're really worried!

You really think that is going to make a diff? it could actually make things worse. If the courts are aware that you are driving while knowingly having a medical problem that cause this, they will not be happy.

Also, in some states, exactly what happened is the definition of reckless driving so they would be guilty anyway.
