    Exclamation Pregnant Sixteen-Year-Old Wants Emancipation

In the state of Florida, when a female is 16 going to be 17 in November and is pregnant, can she move out of her parents home without their permission?

What are her rights as a pregnant woman/girl?

Can the 16 year olds parents prevent the father of the child from having communication with the child when it is born, or doen the father have rights the same as any regardless of the age?

Yes they can as they have legal authority over the minor. What Bio Dad needs to do is have DNA test run after child's birth then seek custody or visitation rights. The parents of the minor could not prevent Bio Dad from seeing his child

FYI, just to be sure there's no question since a LOT of people misunderstand this:

MEDICALLY emancipated means she can make the final decisions (with the help of her doctor) about her health care and that of the baby. It does NOT mean that she is legally emancipated; she is still under the care and control of her parents. She CANNOT move out without permission and they CAN prevent the father of the baby from seeing HER.
