Default Judgement for Repossession of Car
I traded my car in and financed a new car with the same company. About a month later, I received a bill from GMAC stating I owed $600 for excess mileage, etc. I went to the dealership and they told me that my old car was a smart buy and its similar to a lease so those charges were correct. I started paying the finance co. $50 per month towards the $600.

Ok, I didn't make my payment that was due last week. They called me today and told me that since I am late - they want me to make two payments today by phone. I refused since I am only 1 payment late.

They told me that if they don't have the money by Sept 1st that they will enter a judgement and repossess the new car that they are currently financing. HUH?

Can they enter a judgement that quickly and can they repossess the new car that is not past due?

What does your contract with them say? If you are contractually required to make the double payment, choose not to do so, and thereby breach the contract, they may well be able to repossess the car.
