    Default Questions about Emancipation

I am 17yrs old and I'm a senior in high school. I have been through 3 divorces and abuse from my former step-father (just divorced recently) and my older brother when i was younger. I have had a rough life (if you want details let me know) and I am looking to get Emancipated because I really can't stand to live where I do now any longer, not even a another year.

I live with my mother in Barberton Ohio. She is the cause of all of my stress at home... See drinks every night starting when she gets home from work and I go through mental abuse from her all the time. I have called my dad many time crying and he knows too that I should not be here (i cant move in with him because he lives over 60 miles away and I am afraid to leave my school. My school is the only kind of stability I have ever known)... I have a heart dissorder because she never took me to the soctor when I was sick and I went on with a rare muscle dissorder, Sydenhams Chorea, for a long time untill a teacher of mine notice something was wrong and called a hospital where they found both problems... She has tried to make me hate my father (my dad is the most important person in the world to me) by having my brother lie to me. Also she doesn't let me go out much becase she says "I'm tired" (she is tired from the alocohol making her tired and it also making it so she doesn't get a recouperative sleep)....

Anyways I know many kids complain about there parents because they don't get there way but I can tell you right now that I am not like that and this isn't kinda case. I can support my self if given the chance and maybe a little bit of extra money seeing I am still in school and can only work so much. I am very responsible and mature.

Do I have any chance here to get emancipated? Do I need proof of anything? What will I need? What do I need to know?

Please get back to me as soon as you can. It is very appeciated! Thank you!

So does this mean that I am SOL. I can't move out till I graduate? Is there anything I can do?

The "options" are lawful marriage, active duty military service, and turning 18.
