Default Told "Cops Are Coming" After Berating Another Motorist

Most of this is my fault. However, I don't believe a police officer should behave the way this man did to me.

I came off of a freeway and was waiting to drive into a gas station. At that time a SUV was coming out of the station and was turning to his left. After he was finish with his turn, I started rolling my car forward to go into the station. At the same time however, another SUV was coming down the road but because of the 1st SUV turning left I didn't see him until the first SUV was cleared - So I stepped on my brakes - however to the 2nd SUV it must've seemed like i was about to run into him... so he made a deliberate movement to avoid my car, but when he drove past me he flicked me off. I don't know what went over me but, that really pissed me off because that man made it seem like I was trying to hit him.

Anyways, so I drove up next to him and told him that I saw him coming and he his a #$#@$ tard for doing what he did. Then I backed up and drove into the gas station and proceeded to fill my tank up... The man in the 2nd SUV turned around and followed me into the gas station and a minute later rolled his window down and told me that "I was done" and that he was a cop and within minutes there will be a cop car coming.

So I tried to talking to the man about how we are both in the wrong, but every time I tried talking to him he drove away. He kept driving circling in and out of the gas station taunting me and congratulating on how I just @#@$#ed up. When he finally drove away, I was worried about what his cop friends will do because if he was really a cop (he just said that he was and did not show any identification) then he could trump up some bogus stuff to get me in trouble, so I stayed around the gas station for 10-15 mins but no cops came.

My question to you guys here is:

    1) What can this cop (If he really is a cop) do to me?? Can he really make up bogus arrest warrants, any kind of charges or anything so that he can make me miserable?

    2) Where can I find resources on police regulations and procedures - so I 'll know what they can and can't do ?

Am I just worrying myself too much??

    any help is appreciated

    Sean

That man (if you care to call him that) was IMHO, not a police officer.

Just some ***hole trying to frazzle you. Sounds like it worked.

Next time ANYONE in plain clothes threatens you, and saying "you're done" or "Officers are on their way" IS a threat mind you, simply ask for their badge number. If the "officer" fails to identify himself you are under no obligation to wait around for uniformed police to arrive.
