In Jun 2002, I was denied entry into US as I was transiting the US on my way to Canada. The immigration authority pulled up some old records of the time when I had lived and worked illegally in the US as I was stuck in a bad marriage . They deported me immediately and put a 5 yr bar on entry. I was found inadmissable under sections 212(a); (6)(c)(ii) of the INS act.
I am a Canadian citizen with no criminal records. I have a very clean file, am well settled in Canada and have a stable, professional job. I have also changed my last name since then due to divorce.
I have never tried to re-enter US during the 5 Yrs of the ban.
My 2 brothers live in the US and are US citizens. I have now completed the 5 yr prohibition period in jun 2007. Can I visit the US without any special permission or paperwork. I have no intention of staying or working there. The document of removal does not say anything about how to enter the US after the completion of 5 yrs. I would really like to visit my family there.
Please advice.
