    Default Filing for a Divorce

    Ohio

I have decided that my marriage is no longer worth trying to keep together. Rather than continue the hardships of a relationship with a man I don't love anymore I think I want to make a better life for myself without him. Is it neccessary to inform him of my plans or simply file and have him served?

Also I have always worked but it's a low paying dead end job and financially I can't live on the wages I make. We have been married for 18 years and I want to know would it be possible to get spousal support until I finish college or trade school and find a better paying job?

A: You may hire a lawyer and file the lawsuit; he doesn't have to know about it first.

A: Ohio takes into account many factors, including marital misconduct (adultery); discuss all this with your lawyer.

Thank you SeniorJudge. I wish I could get *puppy* support for my dogs but I wouldn't want to have deal with my future ex-husband and visitation. LOL
