Defamation and False Accusations

i'm a 39 year old male. I have been married to the same woman for 15 years. I have an 18 year old step-daughter and 2 natural children by her. My 18 year old made false accusations of sexual abuse against me. I was proven not guilty in a court of law. My daughter posted a blog on an online community and my name is ruined. Can i sue her for defamation. There has to be some kind of consequenses for her actions.

The reasons you may not want to are (a) it will probably cost you a lot of money, (b) it seems unlikely that she would be able to pay you a judgment if you win, (c) just because you prevailed in a criminal trial doesn't mean you'll win a civil trial, and (d) it is possible that the civil trial would generate a lot of publicity about the accusations against you. Beyond that, I don't know of any reason why you can't hire a lawyer and sue.

I don't mind paying a lawyer to sue her, however, money from her is not important to me. I don't want a dime I just want her to have consequences. She is an adult and her actions should have some kind of repercussions. I don't know. I just want my name cleared but i Know that will never happen fully
