Hello,
I am currently on H1B working for company A. I got a new job offer from company B and I got some questions regarding the transfer process. I know that I can start for company B once the transfer applocation is received by USCIS. Lets say the application is received by USCIS on September 1st. Can I quit my current job on September 15th and take a week off and start working for company B on September 22th? Or do i have to start with the new company immediately after quitting my job at company A (september 16th in the example)? My current H1B expires on February 8th, which started October 1st 2005. Can my new employer apply for an extension for 3 years when they apply for the transfer or do I need to transfer my current visa (as expiring on Feb 8th) and apply for an extension later when the time comes. Finally, thanks to my attorney my first H1B visa period ends on Feb 8th 2008 as opposed to September 30 2008 if the attorney filed the papers right. When I apply for the extension, can I ask them to extend my visa for the remainder of the 6 year limit or does that need to be for 3 years at a time? If they extend it for another 3 years, until Feb 8, 2011, can I ask for the second extension for the remainder of my 6 year term, or can there only be one extension?
I apologize for asking too many questions at once and I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.
