Boyfriend Claiming Reimbursement For Contributions To House

ohio i gave the house to my x-wife in the divorce settltment. boyfriend has been living there 6 years and now she wants him out. he is wanting compensation for his contributions to upkeep and maintenance, i.e. windows garage, etc. he isn't on any deeds, mortages, etc although there is a joint bank account. what are his rights and her obligations since ohio does not recognize common law marriages? thanks for any help you can offer.

ohio........... may have posted this in the wrong forum so please bare with me. i gave the mother of my children the house in the divorce settlement. the boyfriend ha been living there for 5 years and now she wants him gone. he wants compensated for his contribution towards the upkeep and maintenance, i.e. windows garage, etc he is on no morgtages, loans, anything related to ownership. since ohio doesn't recognize common law marriage, what is he entitled to and her obligation, llegally? thanks for any insight you can offer!

I doubt that he has any claim at all, absent a formal agreement giving him some form of right of reimbursement. Obviously he was not married to her, and an informal agreement (assuming one even existed) would presumably be void under the "statute of frauds", which requires most contracts concerning real estate to signed and in writing.
