Default Paying Support After Losing Custody

I have a female friend who has custody of her 12-year old son, who wants to live with his father, which she will not allow. The boy has some information that will possibly result in the court to grant full custody to the father (on grounds of negligance of mother).

My question: if custody is taken from the mother, will she be required to pay child support? This is in the state of Ohio.

    Default Child Support

Child support would presumably be awarded in accord with Ohio's child support guidelines.

    Default

hmmmm I had a look at those guidelines... didn't see anything specifically about loss of custody.

But I would assume that in general, in most states, that whenever a parent loses custody, that parent still has to pay child support, even if they are a mother that is not earning too much.

    Does that sound accurate?
