    Question Attorney-Client Privilege After Settlement

A couple of years ago, a family member was represented by a notrious law firm in Texas for the wrongful death of her spouse. The case was won resulting in a multi-million dollar settlement. Now, one of the partners directly involved in the case has an employee (in another business venture completely seperate from the law firm) who has stolen from plaintiff, vandalized property, threatened to kill her new spouse and do bodily injury to plaintiff (complaint filed with Sheriff's office). What are the legal ethics regarding attorney/client relationship after the successful settlement of a case? I also have issues regarding slander in regards to this subject which I might address later.

Default Re: Attorney-Client Privilege After Settlement

Attorney-client privilege continues after a settlement, but if you are accusing the firm of misconduct that can waive privilege to the extent necessary for them to refute the charges.
