Angry Termination of Parental Rights
My daughters biological "father" has disappeared, and I am unable to locate him for now over 5 years. I have been doing my research, and I want to have his rights terminated. I was wondering what I needed to do to get this done. I know that there is volantary and involantaty........under involantary it says "Has not supported child, has not maintained contact or communication with the child, abandonment, in the best interest of the child.....and so on, which I feel all appy to my situation.

How do I go about doing this? What does the court need from me, where do I go....... I also have another post about changing her name.......which I am also trying to do. How do I tie the 2 together to accomplish both goals (terminating rights and chnging name). I am assuming that I can do them together.........but what is my best option.....and where do I begin, and what do I need as proof that will be "acceptable to the court"?

I am in Broward COunty Florida.

An involuntary TPR can be tricky to accomplish without an attorney. You should get a consult with an attorney by calling the Florida Bar Lawyer Referral Service at 1-800-342-8011. Have all of your questions written down to make it easier to get the info you need in the 1/2 hour you'll have.
