Unhappy Accident While On The Way To Get Plates

    Hello all,
I will try and start from the beginning and not leave anything out. I bought a motorcycle with a blown motor and a few other problems from Missouri in sep 2005. I live in Nebraska, when I purchased the motorcycle I attempted to change the title over to my name but was told that since it was from out of state I had to pass a safety inspection. Well the bike was not completly put together so I couldnt pass this inspection. So the title is still a Missouri title in the previous owners name.
Well it took 2 years to complete my project, due to military activations and I just wasnt in too big of hurry. I finished it the other day and took it to go get my motorcycle license. They told me I needed to have plates to use it for the test, so I went to the sherriffs office to have it inspected and get plates. Well I didnt pass the inspection due to a burnt out blinker, so I was on my way home when I was in an accident.
There was two right turn lanes and I was on the inside lane and a car was in the outside lane. It is a pretty tight turn and we bumped into each other on her passenger side and my drivers side of the bike. Damage was minnimal to my bike, just scratches and her car recieved some dents. I think she drifted into my lane and she said I came into hers.
I recieved a ticket for no motorcycle license and no registration. I did have proof of ownership with the title and I did have insurance. I also recieved a ticket for failure to obey a traffic control device. I do not think the other driver recieved anything.
A lawyer friend thinks they will drop the no licencse no registration if I get it before my court date.
Any thoughts or comments on the traffic control device. I looked at the intersection and did not see a camera that may have caught the accident on tape.
    Thanks

It may well be that they will drop the license and registration issues if you fix those problems before court - it's certainly worth trying.

The officer wasn't at the scene, so if you didn't confess crossing into the other driver's lane it sounds like they'll need a witness if you have a formal hearing. However, I don't know how Nevada handles traffic tickets or how its hearings are conducted.
