Default I Was Misdiagnosed, Should I Sue?

    I live in Arkansas.
I was misdiagnosed by a doctor, and everyone is telling me to sue, but I don't know.
Here's what happened. Last Friday I had a bite on my leg, by Monday it was looking pretty gross so I went to a walk-in clinic. The doctor there looked at it and said "Yeah, that's definitally a tick bite, and you have a staph infection in it. What you need to do is keep heat on it, drain the fluid out of the boil, and keep a bandage on it." He gave me some antibiotics. I took those but by Wednesday the thing on my leg looked even worse and I was in an extreme amount of pain, so I went to a different doctor. He sent me over to the hospital. They said that it was a brown recluse bite (that does have staph infection). They said under no means should I have applied heat to it, but ice instead. And I wasn't suppose to drain it because draining it made the venom spread down my leg, and the dr even told me to get the wrong kind of bandages. And because I waited so long for proper treatment of the wound, the skin has died around it and I have to have that removed.
Is this something worth suing over?

We see a fair amount of brown reculse bites in my neck of the woods. The reaction could be anywhere from mild hives to a large necrotic area at the bite location. Swelling and cellulitis (infection of the skin cells) could develop in the surrounding area. It could take 48, even 72 hours for the symtoms to progress, even if you're initially treated with antibiotics.
Initially, the bite could look like a bad reaction to any kind of insect bite, especially if the bite is on the lower part of the leg. It will develop into what is called a "red, white, & blue" area.....red and swollen with white "ring" surrounding it and blue/black at the bite. It can be very painful, take weeks to fully heal, and yes, may require daily debridement of the necotic skin and, eventually, possible grafting.

I am confused by the bandage statement. What kind of bandage are you talking about?

From what you stated, you were appropriately placed on antibiotics the first time you presented your symptoms to the Physician. Your symtoms did not fully develop for another couple of days and at that time you sought additional medical care. I trust that Physician is checking you on a daily basis. Don't miss your meds.

IMO, I do not see any negligence, however, I am not a lawyer. Good luck!
