What exactly is a Grand jury? Is that after you've been in front of a regular jury and you go for an appeal that you get a grand jury?
A grand jury is empaneled to review allegations of criminal activities, as presented by a prosecutor, to determine if there is probable cause upon which to indict a suspect. The grand jury's role is in the charging phase, not in the review of convictions.
