    Default Emancipation in Texas

    okay im 16 in and i wanna be emancipated because me and my step father no longer get along, BUT here's the thing i would most likely move in with my 20 year old boyfriend that they have so desperatly tried to keep me away from.....i would still go to school and i will get a job......but my question is, would they be able to arresst my boyfriend since im a minor, even if i were emancipated? I need an answer and as soon as possible.

    Default Age of Consent in Texas

    If you are emancipated before you move in you wouldn't be a runaway, but other laws might apply to sexual activity. Given that your boyfriend is more than three years older than you, the applicable age of consent in Texas would be 17.
