I am 16 (almost 17) years old and living in California. I have been living with my biological parents for my whole life. In middle school, my parents were reported to CPS for child abuse. The abuse was not sever and they only got a warning. Since then, they had stopped. I believe my parents are over controlling and preventing me from achieving my career goals. The main issue right now is because of college. I do decently well in school (3.7 GPA unweighted). I just graduated as a junior and have been accepted into a program called Middle college. That means that I'm able to spend my senior year at a community college competing my GED as well as starting my college transcript. Through this program, I plan to obtain enough credits to only spend one more year at the community college and transfer as a college junior. They aren't allowing me to do the program because of incidents that have happened with my boyfriend. I know of many people that would take me in and house me, and of course I would pay them rent. Also, I have my own job making around 200 twice a week during high school. I will be able to make more now that it's summer. I know that my parents would most likely not sign the forms, forcing me to go to court and ask a judge to declare my emancipation. I would like to know how likely it is that I would be able to be emancipated.

Thank you.
