I am installing a new fence and want to place an outside security camera to watch for any vandalism to the fence. Is it legal to have a security camera watch private property in Massachusetts? I thought you cannot tape a voice recording, do not know about just video. Does the camera have to be visible or can it be hidden?

Video w/o audio is fine.

just want to make sure, the camera has an audio option. If I keep the audio recording off, is that still ok? Or must the camera have no audio recording ability?

With audio, you can run afoul of state eavesdropping laws.
