Default Ex-Roommates Demanding Utility Bill Payment

I live in ontario, canada. I moved in for about three months with these guys, they made me feel unwelcome in the home and so started sleeping away from home as much as possible, yet somehow there is about 400 dollars they claim that i owe for hydro bills from the last two months. I never signed any agreement to pay any bills, and as far as verbal contracts go the two of them are like best friends so they would lie for each other. I am poor and working to try and survive, meanwhile these guys were in university paid for by teir parents, are now not paying rent and living at their parents and coming after me for bills i cant pay. do i have to pay them even though they paid the bills and i have no contractual agreement to do so?

If they sue you, they will argue what they believe the agreement to have been, you will respond with your understanding of the agreement, and the judge will decide.
