Short story: My Yahoo! account was recently broken into by someone who had maliciously gained my password, and I'm attempting to gather evidence to prove the person was there. I contacted Yahoo! support services to request IP addresses that logged into my account on the suspected day, and they responded with this:
"The information you have requested is not available through Customer Care. It is our understanding that you would like information from Yahoo! regarding access to your account.
Log information and access data may require a subpoena or other
appropriate legal processes prior to disclosure. All such requests
shall be made in writing and directed to:
Yahoo! Custodian of Records

Sunnyvale, CA 94089-1019"
Now, IANAL, but I can't imagine needing anything special to get information about my own account. I'm interested, however, in getting some pointers on how to draft the request, having never done anything like that before. Is there any special wording, language, or phrasing I should use? Thanks in advance.
