Default The Workers Comp Settlement Process
Greetings,

Just found this site. I am at the point where my nuerosurgeon in california just termed me permanent and stationary with drastic work restrictions after a moderately succesful herniation repair. I couldn't return to my old job. My company likely will not be able to give me another job--I was on the lift team in a major hospital system.

How long does it typically take to settle? Is there anything I should know from those with experience? This is kind of scary. I am not supposed to lift anymore than 25 pounds and I can't do any repetitive sitting or standing. That really worries me. I'm moving to Boston and will be looking for work. Will employers throw my application in the trash? I'm worried.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Has the insurance company proposed settling? Are you working with a lawyer? Do you have a full understanding of what your future medical needs are likely to be?
