    Question Civil Rights After Completion of Deferred Felony Sentence

    Hello people. Im looking for some info here. For a first offense.

    About 20 years ago, i was a dumb kid and took a 4 wheeler from a building and joy riding and jumped in to a canal with it.
    I turned myself in for it, a felony and served 8 years deferred adjudication probation and full restitution.
    Served it all with no conflicts. It has been 20 years since my stupidity.
    Im now 37 years old.

    What steps can to be taken for restoration of civil rights.

    The usual consequence of a deferment is that you are not convicted. If you are not convicted, you should not have any loss of civil rights. So was there something more to your post than advertising a particular law firm which, if half as good as you say, should have answered this question for you?

    No i was just happy that i found this guy. I did not know about this at all.

    Now im wondering about, If i can vote, or sit in a jury.
    Also i have a 7 year old son and would like to show him how to hunt one day as well if i can ever do that at all?
    All i want is some information so i dont get in trouble again.

    Sorry about posting the lawyer i found. Didnt know that was not allowed.
    I have not contacted him to ask this, He deals with Expungement and Nondisclosure's only.
    ============================
    Well i finally talked to my lawyer i had.
    He said i should be able to vote and stand in on a jury, But he does not know about the hunting. Well this is good, at least i can do a civil duty for sure since i was a screw up and owe it to society.
    So now does anyone have any more information for me?

    I was convicted of a felony (which was deferred) and I remember them telling me a "FELON" IN TEXAS" can never lawfully own a gun of any type!!
