Default Medical Help After Settlement
I live in Texas and just recently was evaluated 5% disabled. The WC wants to send me x amount for 15 weeks. My question is this:

If I take the settlement will WC quit paying for medical precedures needed for my injury? I will need additional surgery next Nov. and may have to have a total knee replacement sometime in the future as a direct result of my injury.

By taking the settlement is WC washing its hands of my injury? I do not have a lawyer. All I wanted was for them to cover my medical bills. I have been back at work since Nov., but use a wheelchair as needed. I don't want to be left high and dry. I know I will need additional surgery. What do I do?

Default Re: Medical Help After Settlement
In some states you can settle part of your claim (e.g., lost wages) while leaving another aspect of your claim (e.g., medical) open. If the settlement they are offering includes settlement of future medical, you will be responsible for your own future medical care relating to that injury.
