Default Re: Collection Agency Will Obtain a Copy of a Judgement
I have a questions. I live in NJ - Judgement was posted and taken out of bank acct in Nov 06. Checked bank acct this afternoon and saw that same amt was taken again. Bank states check for original was sent to law firm - and they received a second one 4 days after. The original amt was to satisfy the debt.
How do I go about getting the money back into my account and more important - does this go against the Fair Debt Collection Law - and do I have the right to sue the collection agency for taking out monies again, since this has already been satisfied.

You are stating that you have now paid the entire judgment twice? You paid by check and, while it was in the mail or being processed, they garnished the same amount from your account?

Have you asked for a refund of the erroneous overcharge?
